As you already know from an post, mailings are past or future. There, I briefly described my humble opinion about how it is and how it should be, but not about it today.
Mailing list.
As in the subject-question, why build a mailing list and how to do it. The mailing list is nothing more than a collection of email addresses that you leave in places that interest you. While surfing the Internet, sometimes you come across an interesting website, profile, blog, etc. There is not always time to trace the content there, but you can save this page as a favorite and come back there at any time. If the content is interesting for you and you are interested in what’s new there, you can regularly look at your „favorite address” or leave your email address so that after the publication of new content you will receive a notification in your email inbox.
Something for something.
Of course, your address is extremely valuable nowadays and you already know it for certain, so before you share it somewhere, I recommend reading the rules of personal data processing, i.e. Privacy policy. Why read this? Well, to make sure that the data administrator collects e-mail addresses for the needs of self-promotion and not for third parties, so-called „Third-party data”, which then goes to the data warehouse and suddenly your inbox fills up with unwanted correspondence.
Why this list?
The collected honest and legal mailing list is mainly used for self-promotion, content in the case of a blog, products in the e-store, promotion, sales in stationary stores or service outlets. This is the first step in establishing a closer relationship between those who offer something and those who are interested in this offer. Thanks to the exchange of contacts, it is now known what and to whom it is sent, and there is no case as it happens in commercial mass mailings in search of interested persons.
How to collect these contacts?
First of all, to want something from people you must first give something from yourself. The currency can be content, free product, sample of some good. We are all alert to dishonest data scams and everyone wonders twice before sharing their email address.
Therefore, I am not a supporter of soliciting readers at every step, leave a contact, enter an email. My subscription invitation looks like this:

And they can only be found on the start page where it all starts.
The above window is integrated with the Mailchimp e-mail system, which from the first day takes care of the security of the collected data, and protects it against leakage just to the third-party data, thanks to which my subscribers receive communication only about new blog entries. Of course, if in the future I announce a contest or have some great offer for my readers, the absolute right of priority is for people who have trusted me and shared their email address with me. I invite you to subscribe to my list of readers 🙂
Today, an exceptionally, the save window is in this post:
